Daffidee

Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 1, 2026

Daffidee is operated by Drawbridge Web, Inc. ("Drawbridge Web," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information Daffidee collects, how we use it, and the choices available to you as a parent or guardian. Daffidee is listed in Apple's Kids Category, and this policy is written with that in mind — including for families whose children are under 13.

Our commitment to children's privacy

Daffidee is designed to be used by children under a parent or guardian's supervision. We built the app to need as little information as possible:

  • The calendar, mood check-ins, and sticker rewards all work completely on-device, with nothing sent to us, unless a parent chooses to create an account for cloud backup.
  • We do not require a child to enter their own name, email address, photo, or any other personal information anywhere in the app.
  • We do not show ads, use advertising SDKs, or allow any behavioral or interest-based advertising.
  • We do not sell or rent any information to anyone, for any reason.
  • We do not include chat, messaging, social sharing, or any other feature that lets a child communicate with people outside their own family.
  • Any account is created and controlled by the parent — using the parent's own email address and password, not the child's.

Information a parent provides to us

If a parent chooses to turn on cloud backup, they create an account with:

  • Email address
  • Password (this is handled directly by our authentication provider, Firebase Authentication; we never see or store the password ourselves)

An account is entirely optional. Without one, Daffidee works fully offline and nothing described in this section is ever collected.

Information generated through use of the app

When a parent sets up Daffidee, they (or, under their supervision, their child) enter information into the app such as:

  • Names and colors for each household ("House 1" / "House 2")
  • The custody schedule pattern
  • Calendar events (a title, date, and emoji)
  • Daily mood check-ins (an emoji per day)
  • Which sticker packs are unlocked and which stickers are placed on which days

If no account is created, all of this stays on the child's device in local storage and is never transmitted to us.

If a parent creates an account, this same information is synced to our database (Google Firestore) so it can be restored after a reinstall or carried to a new device. It is stored under that parent's account and is not visible to us in any identifiable way in the ordinary course of operating the app.

We'd also note: the house-name and event-title fields are free text a parent types in. We don't ask for a child's real name anywhere, but a parent could choose to type one into a custom house name or event title — that's within their control, not something Daffidee requests or requires.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand how Daffidee is used and improve it, we collect:

  • A random identifier generated on your device when the app is first installed. It is not connected to your email address, your account, or any other information that identifies you or your child, and a reinstall generates a new one.
  • Which platform you're on (iOS, Android, or web)
  • When the app is opened, and how many times
  • When a sticker pack is unlocked, which one, and what streak or total triggered it (used only in aggregate, to understand how engaging the reward system is)

This data cannot be used to identify a specific child or family, and we do not attempt to do so.

Crash reports

If the app encounters an error, we log the error message, a technical stack trace, the platform, and the same anonymous install identifier described above, so we can find and fix bugs. This is not designed to and should not capture any personal information — it is limited to technical details about what the app's code was doing at the time.

Notifications

Daffidee can send reminders (for example, the evening before a custody switch, or when a sticker pack unlocks). These are scheduled entirely on your device using your device's operating system — we do not operate a push-notification server, and no notification content or token is ever sent to us.

What we don't collect

We do not collect or access: your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or any device data beyond what's described above. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs of any kind.

Third parties who process data on our behalf

We use the following service providers to operate Daffidee. They process data only as needed to provide their service to us, under their own privacy and security terms:

  • Firebase Authentication (Google) — manages parent account sign-in.
  • Google Firestore — stores synced calendar data and anonymous analytics/crash events, for accounts that opt into cloud backup.

We do not share information with any other third party, and we do not allow these providers to use Daffidee's data for their own advertising or analytics purposes.

How long we keep information

  • Local, on-device data (calendar, moods, stickers) is kept only on the device and isn't affected by anything below — it stays until you clear it yourself (Settings → Reset my progress) or delete the app.
  • Account data is kept for as long as the account is active.
  • Inactive accounts. If a cloud account has no activity for 6 months, we'll email the address on file a heads-up before automatically deleting the account and its cloud-synced backup. This only removes the cloud copy — the app keeps working normally from local, on-device data, and a new account can be created later to resume backup and sync.
  • Manually deleted accounts. When a parent deletes their account, we aim to remove the associated cloud-synced data, including from backups, within 30 days.
  • Anonymous analytics and crash reports are kept in aggregate to understand app usage over time; because they aren't linked to an identifiable person, there's no "your data" within them to separately delete.
  • Deleting the app from a device removes all locally-stored data immediately. It does not delete a cloud-synced account — see above.

We designed the app to need very little information in the first place (see "Our commitment to children's privacy" above) — that keeps what there is to retain, and what could be exposed if something ever went wrong, to a minimum.

Parental rights: reviewing, correcting, or deleting information

A parent can:

  • Delete their account at any time from Settings → Backup & sync → Delete my account. This permanently removes the cloud backup (synced settings, events, moods, and stickers) from our database. It does not delete anything stored locally on the device — the app keeps working offline afterward.
  • Reset mood and sticker history at any time from Settings → Sticker progress → Reset my progress, without needing to delete the whole account.
  • Request a copy of, a correction to, or deletion of any information associated with their account by emailing us at [email protected]. We will respond and act on verified requests within a reasonable time.

If you believe your child has provided us with information outside of a parent-controlled account in a way that concerns you, please contact us at the email above and we will investigate and delete it.

Security and what happens if there's a breach

Data sent to and from Daffidee is encrypted in transit. Cloud-synced data is stored using Firebase/Google Cloud's standard security infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we don't store anything beyond what's described in this policy, which limits what could be exposed in the event of an incident.

If we discover a security incident affecting your account data, we will investigate promptly, take reasonable steps to contain it, and notify affected account holders by email without unreasonable delay, consistent with applicable law (for example, Florida law generally requires notice to affected individuals within 30 days of determining a breach occurred). We'll also notify any government agencies required by law. If you have a security concern, please contact us right away at [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where required, provide notice within the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect.
